As a person, I am passionate, expressive, and creative. I have lots of varied interests, including reading, writing, knitting, thrifting, baking, doing puzzles, going on long walks in nature, etc. I adore all things food – I love cooking, exploring new food and reading about the history of food and culinary practices. As a therapist, I need periods of time when I rest and recover from the intensity of my work. I value slow living and having work-life balance. I am a huge fan of thrifting and I love popping by to thrift stores after work as a way to decompress and to find vintage or unique items! My space is a reflection of this. I also care deeply about the environment and sustainability. I eat plant-based foods, buy second-hand and/or ethically sourced products and support fair wages through the things I choose to buy. I love shows and movies and often have things playing in the background when I make art or when I am doing mundane, everyday tasks. I am not a religious or ritualistic person. But, I believe in God. I am respectful of other people’s beliefs and participate in ceremonies or rituals if my family requests me to. I will do the same in my partner’s home. I value mindfulness and try to practice meditation and yoga (although I have not been as successful as I would like to be with this). About Family: Her father was a Banking Domain Head/General Manager at a leading IT company for several years before retiring 2 years ago. Her mother is a stay-at-home mother. Parents are living in Chennai. Elder brother is Asst. Professor in an US State University, he has several patents to his credit. Sister-in-law has a PhD in Public Health and is a clinician and researcher who specializes in nutrition. They have two lovely young daughters. We are a close-knit family and enjoy a warm relationship with our daughter-in-law's family. We hope to find another family to welcome into ours. Partner Expectations: (in her words) I strongly believe in equality for everyone and I believe that no one should be discriminated against because of their gender, caste, class or religion. I would like a partner who not only believes in the same, but also practices these beliefs in his life. I enjoy a close and warm relationship with my parents, brother, sister-in-law and my two nieces! I would love to find a partner, who also has siblings and comes from a close-knit family. I have enjoyed equal freedom and respect as my brother in my house and would expect the same respect from my partner’s family :) It goes without saying that my partner would also be valued and respected by me and my family. As a therapist and a person, I truly believe that relationships require lots of work and that conflicts are natural. The strength of the relationship is based on the care that we take to repair and reconnect after fights and arguments. I want a partner who believes in the same and is willing to work towards building a life together. I would like a partner who values slowing down and having healthy balance between work and rest. In a nutshell, I would love a partner who is honest, kind, empathetic and respectful. I am also open to relocating to UK, Canada, Singapore and English speaking countries in Europe.
